Glock.17 Vs Glock.19 - The difference in barrel length between the Glock 17 and the Glock 19 is one of the most debated topics among many Glock fans. People are taking this Glock 17 vs Glock 19 comparison seriously, and arguments about which is better can get heated quickly.
So, after writing this review, I know I'm going to get angry emails from people who misled me. I want to respond to these people before we go any further by saying that I know the "best shot" is the best shot for you.
Glock.17 Vs Glock.19
If you have a father at 17 or 19, that's good for you. Ultimately, having the right gun for you makes you a better shooter.
Forget The Glock 17 Or 19: The Glock 18 Is A Real Life Machine Gun
But I'm going to come out and say it - I think the Glock 19 is better. 17 and 19 Glock are very impressive pistols, using new materials and a simple and reliable design.
Both offer the same triple safety system as their best-selling pistols, and both boast deadly accuracy in the right hands. But – and this is a big but – the Glock 19, being smaller, is better for concealment, and for that reason it's my best handgun.
This is not exaggerating the problem. Let's take a look at the key similarities and differences between the guns, and why you should choose one over the other.
Let's get some basics out of the way for those new to this debate.
Glock 17 Vs. 19
The Glock 17 and Glock 19 are essentially the same gun, except that the Glock 19 has a slightly smaller stock and grip. That means it's short and not a full shot.
Other than that, the guns are the same. Both chamber 9mm cartridges, are made from a high-quality blend of steel and polymer, and are valued by both police and military around the world for their reliability.
When Austrian genius Gaston Glock sat down to develop these weapons in the early 1980s, he had no experience in making weapons.
So he came up with a really cool situation - the Glock 17 was quickly used by shooters in Europe, and it also received a NATO number. 19, special note, first published in 1988.

Both tools are still in development, with the latest models being the Gen 4 series. It's slightly smaller than their Gen 3 predecessor, but otherwise they're identical.
Some older shooters prefer the Gen 3 models, but in my experience there is little difference between them.
Again, the prices are reasonable, both tools are the same. In terms of guns, they all come in at the higher end, but you get what you pay for when it comes to guns.
Also, the longevity of the Glock 17 and Glock 19 means that there are now plenty of accessories for both from good aftermarket sights.
Range Report: Glock Gen 5
Well, what is best for you will depend on several factors. Let's look at a few differences between the Glock 17 and the Glock 19.
The grip of the Glock 17 will extend under the arm of most users, while the grip of the 19 is on the underside of your hand. The size difference also applies to the trigger mechanism, with the 19 being slightly more aggressive than the larger 17.
These differences will affect what you want, but only if you are specific or small. For most of us, no gun is too big or too small, even if they feel the difference in size.
Yes, some people prefer the feel of a big gun. On the other hand, having a small gun can improve your concealability (especially for women who carry it), as I'll talk more about below.
Glock 45: Can The G45 Truly Mix The Glock 17 And Glock 19 9mm Guns?
This is the main reason used by those who say the Glock 17 is the best handgun.
With a longer barrel, the 17 is said to be more accurate than its older brother. I hate to tell them, but in my experience and after much research I think they are wrong.
The reason for this is that the accuracy of the device is usually less important than the experience you use. See, a half-inch difference between the barrels of two rifles is small compared to the marksmanship.
Therefore, a direct comparison of the technical accuracy of the two pistols is useless. Both may be more accurate than I (and maybe you) get from them.
My Concealed Carry Glock 17 Setup
So, in this guide I am going to confirm that there is no difference between the Glock 17 and the Glock 19.
Overall, the smaller and larger Glock 17 should be less intimidating than the smaller Glock 19. But in the tests, this does not seem to be the case.
In fact, the difference in weight between the two guns is so small that it's almost imperceptible to most users, and the same goes for recoil.
Therefore, I suggest that those who feel the difference between the two guns in this situation should give it a try.
Glock 48 Vs Glock 19
The answer to that question is simple - these two guns are Glocks and therefore very reliable.
It should be noted that the older of the two models, the Glock 17 was originally designed to replace the WW2 era pistol used by the Austrian police, so reliability was a priority in the design. These guns are manufactured.
In my own personal experience, I have never seen a gun jam. I'm sure it's possible to steal them through a series of bugs, but for most people, guns are reliable.
When it comes to which gun is better, the Glock 17 has a larger magazine capacity than the 19. That's right, of course - the Glock 17's standard magazine holds 17 rounds, compared to the Glock 19's 15.
G43x Vs G17.5 Size Comparison
This is. There are some situations where this is important. If you're using your Glock for some sort of competition, and fire the entire magazine at once, it makes sense to go for a larger magazine.
However, I believe that these two distinctions mean little for practical purposes. There are some, in a self-defense situation, you can't have too many rounds in the magazine.
I think the same people would delete an entire magazine in two seconds, maybe one hit. There's no point in developing a self-defense plan if you miss it.
If it takes you 17 rounds to clear an attack (or 5, for that matter), you should spend some time on the line.
Glock 17 Vs 19: Which Is Best For Concealed Carry?
Well, maybe. Maybe one in a hundred times, the striker will be weaker than the Glock 17 and 19.
But, according to this idea, you can get a gun. And of course, if you're worried about half an inch, the Glock 17 won't worry you any less.
There's one area where the two guns really make a difference, and that's in concealment. I'll point out first that it's the grip, not the barrel size. The Glock 19 is shaved off half an inch, and on paper, it's easier to hide than the numbers show.
If you're lucky enough to live in a hot climate with thin coats, the press is generally more dangerous than the barrel, and for that reason the Glock 19 is better in those situations.
Glock 19 Vs Glock 26
However, all that said is more art than science, and the size of your gun is only one factor in concealing it. Where you buy and what clothes you wear can make a big difference. Additionally, your choice of clothing can affect concealment.
For these reasons, I would not say that the Glock 19 is a very good concealable pistol. Both of these guns can be well concealed. However, a minimum score of 19 gives the edge.
